If you have your own business you know that it’s a very busy job – you’re constantly wearing all the hats and doing all the work. One way you can cut down on the amount of work you do is to make sure that you aren’t reinventing the wheel. Remember that there are all kinds of other people out there running their own businesses and having the same experience as you. Most of those people are willing and eager to share what they’ve learned with you. So in addition to creating everything you need for your business, learn to beg and borrow what you need.
For example, suppose you publish an ezine for your business. Do you have to write every article for that ezine? Absolutely not. There are all kinds of article exchange services that offer free articles for you to put in your ezine. Just go online and surf around until you find one. Or, if you don’t want to spend all your time surfing, go to the Yahoo groups (http://www.groups.yahoo.com) and look for a discussion list that’s relevant to your business. Join one or more groups and ask the participants if they have any sources for free articles.
Do you want to purchase some leads for your business but don’t have enough money to do it? Use the discussion groups to locate a group of people with similar businesses and share the leads. You can also share ideas on how to market to, prospect and follow up with those leads. Several brains are better than one.
You can also sign up for free ezines that offer advice about your type of business. Here are several places to look:
